“Escuintla” is a photographic typology series of trash found in the black volcanic sand beach in Escuintla Guatemala. We are so used in the country to see trash in the beach that we no longer pay attention to the items that have ended up here. if people stopped looking at it as a big pile of trash and start to pay attention to every item, their reaction would be a different one. Each piece of trash found tells a story, each photograph is an individual item taken from above, the background is the black volcanic sand and the light source is the hot beach sun. All these elements together transform the objects that where already taken as trash and gives to it a sculptural artistic form that can be analyzed and examined.
